durch bruch (2021) — The series »durch bruch« (break through) describes our imprints and traces that we leave in our everyday life. Through the photographic study of the skateboard, the deep connection between the two components of photography and skateboarding is told. This interplay is reinforced by the respective transfer of typical characteristics of both elements. In this work, the materiality, movement and wear of the skateboard are combined with our visual habits of photography. Everything we do leaves traces. Remnants of wonderful memories meet fragments of unpleasant souvenirs. Pictorially and allegorically, imprints of life show aesthetic, inconspicuous variations. Here our traces are captured and made visible.
